You too can be a star! The Backroom's Karaoke is one of our most popular events. Three times a week the stage lights up with talent from locals, tourists and occasionally a famous celebrity. Karaoke nights are a great way to get together with friends and have a blast. The place to be is the Backroom Saloon on Karaoke Nights!

James White "Sunny Jim"

James "Sunny Jim" White spent more than a decade in the Caribbean as an artist-in-residence at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cayman, and this is reflected in the laid-back outlook of his music. Sunny you can feel the warm sunshine and sea breezes. From ballads to upbeat fun soca tunes, his original songs tell the story of the islands.

James White has recorded four CD's and each one is better than the last. His latest release, Tropical Trader, includes twelve songs, all but two written by him. The first cut, So Far, So Fast was inspired by Sunny Jim's world-wide radio debut from the Caman Islands on was followed by Life in the Liad Back Lane, which features Blam it on teh Rum, a song he wrote for the Tom Cruise hit film "The Firm". Stop by the Backroom & see Sunny Jim.

Ben Hammond

Schooled in jazz, raised on rock, immersed in soul, and fascinated with music the world over, Ben can just as easily be found strumming and singing a ballad as he can live looping an a cappella improvisation of throat singing, beatboxing, and harmonized scatting. When performing his composed material, either as a soloist or with his quartet, the music features Ben's engaging, soulful vocals weaved within a framework of genre-shifting instrumentation, providing a platform for his subtle, contemplative lyrics.
